Abby Bentz

Abby joined the Yoga for You team during the summer of 2009. Prior to her move to North Carolina, Abby worked in Denver as a yoga and pilates instructor for both Bally Total Fitness and Matrix Fitness & Spa. She received her fitness instructor training from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2004, where she also obtained a Master of Science degree in Museum Studies. Abby’s style of teaching follows vinyasa flow yoga, the linking of yoga movement with the breath.


Annette Tersigni R.N., RYT500

Known as the Yoga Nurse, Annette has been practicing yoga for more than 40 years. A certified Kripalu teacher, Integral Yoga Medical Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Educator and Stress Management Consultant, she has taught over 3,000 students in Canada, the U.S and Europe.  She teaches wellness programs at Carteret General Hospital to diverse populations including patients with heart disease, stroke, cancer and appears frequently as a guest on TV and radio as an expert in her field.


Brad Fischer 


Brad is an Emerald Isle resident who owns and operates Oceanshore Design, an architectural design business.  He is a Kripalu trained yoga instructor and has been practicing yoga for over 10 years, After becoming PADI certified scuba diver in 1978, he has enjoyed many years of underwater exploration. An avid sailor, kayaker, and wind surfer, Brad’s love of the water started very early in his native home, Virginia Beach.  Brad specializes in teaching yoga  for scuba divers, and  surfers. To help bring regular guys into the world of yoga and stress management, he teaches Yoga Blend where he unites Kripalu Yoga with the use of a yoga stick.

 Cheryl LeClair

Discovered yoga in 2001, looking for a way to de-stress while working in Chicago.  After relocating to North Carolina, she attended Wilmington Yoga Center’s 200-hour teacher training program in 2007 and is RYT 200.  Cheryl has studied Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, and studied meridian yoga at Kripalu.  Cheryl is certified from Duke Integrative Medicine's Yoga for Seniors Therapist program, with a specialty in yoga for osteoarthritis.    Cheryl was granted a scholarship by Dr. Richard Miller to study iRest Integrative Restoration (yoga nidra.)  She has completed her Level 1 training as well as "Teaching iRest in the Military."  iRest is being used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well as Veteran's hospitals nationwide.  Cheryl wishes to share her passion for yoga and relaxation with everyone.


Hanna Coe
 

Hanna hs been practicing yoga for nearly 50 years throughout her nursing practice as an R.N.,B.S.  Since retiring from nursing, she became certified to teach yoga by the White Lotus Foundation.  She has continued her education with extensive training from Tracey Rich and Gangha White, coursework in Anatomy and Physiology from the Kripalu Center, and a certification in Yoga Therapy from Joseph Le Page.  She teaches our Gentle Yoga Class.


Jaya Jean Sarnacki


Jean Sarnacki has been a certified Integral Yoga Instructor since 1991 and has taught at many settings throughout the county.  She brings to class a great sense of humor, and an extensive knowledge of anatomy and body alignment through her twelve years of experience as a massage therapist. She has trained in BKS Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kundalini & Structural  Yoga Therapy.


Juli Saylor


Juli’s desire is to spread her passion for yoga on and off the mat.  She graduated from Seaside Yoga of Wilmington with her 200 RYT in September 2008 with an emphasis on Anusara yoga.  She honors her teachers Lisa Colletti, Susan Koepp, Ashley Ludman and Rachael Crawford Goolsby.


Michelle Thornell

Michelle began practicing Yoga in 2001 while searching for stress relief from her job of 20 plus years in law enforcement. She began teaching yoga in 2003 and has studied with Master Purna yoga teacher Aadil Palkivala, Tias Little and Meridith Musick. Her classes are adapted to the level of the students and their needs. Michelle's teaching experience ranges from alignment based to Vinyasa. There is always room for learning and laughter in her classes.   

Rae Williams

Yoga has been a lifelong journey for Rae, as she was introduced to Yoga in high school in the 1960’s. She combined yoga with running for thirty years until a knee injury brought her focus back to yoga.  She was thus encouraged to complete her teacher training at Holy Cow Yoga Center in Charleston, South Carolina in 2003. A knee replacement in 2005 led her to the Kripalu yoga Center in Lennox, Massachusetts where she attended Chair Yoga Teacher Training under Lakshmi Voelker-Binder.
